History of Prize Bonds:
The prize bonds history started in the sub-continent on 15th January 1944. They were at the beginning called “Five Year interest-free Bonds 1949”. These bonds were issued on sale in denominations of Rs. 10 and Rs. 100, by the undivided Indian Government and were supervised by draw committees and a senior Government officer. The members from the State Bank of Pakistan and Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) were also included in the draw committees.
Pakistan’s National Saving:
Pakistan National Saving organization was formed in 1873 under the Act of Government Savings Bank. This organization is the current most important financial structure of the national economy, with an annual company profile revenue of Rs. 3.4 trillion with more than 4 million investors. National Saving also has strong networking of 376 branches all over Pakistan that is systematized by 12 regional directorates.
